Like Aldehydes C-16 ( Strawberry) and C-14 (Peach), Gamma Nonalactone has a common name which is incorrect: Aldehyde C-18. Gamma Nonalactone is the scent of coconut and is the most popular basic material used to impart that scent in fragrances. With no restrictions on use and a very popular odour profile, Gamma Nonalactone is an essential chemical for perfumers.
