Delta decalactone is without doubt the most coconut-like of the common lactones. It opens with a rich, creamy sweetness—fresh coconut flesh, condensed milk, and a buttery smoothness that reads as immediately tropical and edible. Subtle peach and nutty undertones add complexity, but the overwhelming impression is pure, lush coconut cream. Use this lactone to build convincing coconut accords or to add creamy, milky body to white florals like gardenia, tuberose, and frangipani.
