A room fragrance built around one idea: the smell of a consulting room that is spotlessly clean, and expensive. It opens cold — bergamot, lemon and a breath of eucalyptus over a surgical-spirit flash from the aldehydes — then settles into the part that does the work: methyl salicylate for medicated gauze, a measured trace of eugenol for dental cement, lavender and geranium for the soap at the basin, Floralozone and Helional for steel and glass. The base is deliberately light for a room: moss, cedar, dry amber and white musks, enough to hold the air for a couple of hours without warming it up. Forty materials became thirty-eight after an adversarial review, which cut everything that stains fabric, leaves a film on glass or costs money without being audible across a room. Intended at 7.5% in 96° ethanol with no water, three or four sprays for a medium room.
