Styrax resinoid opens with a rich, balsamic sweetness that has a warm, slightly woody character. It develops into a deeper, resinous warmth that can evoke a sense of earthiness, often reminiscent of vanilla and amber. In a formula, it acts as a fixative, helping to anchor lighter notes while adding a smooth, creamy texture that enhances the overall richness of the composition. It pairs well with floral notes, particularly those with a spicy or sweet profile, and can also complement woody and oriental accords. The typical usage is between 0.010% to 0.35%, with most formulas using around 0.040%.
