Celestolide is a bright and diffusive musk that can be used at very high doses (though it is also effective in low amounts). Arctander has this to say of it: "Mild, sweet-musky odour with a faint, animal undertone and good tenacity. Relatively stable under normal conditions in perfume creations. May develop a slightly sour note during storage, a note which is appreciated by some perfumers, disliked by others." Celesolide features in the luxurious Bakhoor Al Arais by Swiss Arabian along with Cedroxyde (for its cedar note) and luxurious saffron in the form of Safranal. — Fraterworks
