Guaiyl Acetate is a lovely soft floral woody material resulting from the acetylation of Guaiacwood oil. It is a perfect material for extending and fixing rose bases (especially tea rose) owing to its complex nuance of rose, spice and wood. Guaiyl Acetate also works as an alternative or supplement to Vetiveryl Acetate which is quite restricted in use under IFRA 51. NOTE: Guaiyl Acetate (also associated with CAS 61789-17-1) is an acetylation of fractions of natural guaiacwood oil and so, like vetiveryl acetate, it derives from a number of alcohols (principally guaiol and bulnesol).
