The scent of Shinto shrines, Buddhist temples and palaces in Japan, Hinoki Wood is a type of cypress with a distinctive top note character with a rounded camphoraceous quality. It is softer than pine and fir oil and has a very lovely smoky and leathery facet. It would be ideal in a forest based scent or a fantasy fresh fragrance and would be very interesting with Dihydromyrcenol as the main part of a modern top note accord. IFRA: Hinoki Wood has no limitations under IFRA however LMR undertakes internal testing and they use that testing when they produce their “IFRA” documents.
