It has progressed from being dosed at 10% via the classic Fixateur base of Firmenich to being the central wood / amber material in many fragrances. Admired by many perfumers for its warm, musky-amber scent and lasting depth, it was originally developed to mimic the fragrance of natural ambergris, but has since become valued for its stable and powerful diffusion.
